Lix Toll

It was very cold this morning! We launched the boat, and headed out to the wreck of the Thesis. S&B went in first whilst Cyclops and I waited on the surface. It was so cold we actually watched the drinking water freeze in Cyclops bottle! When S&B surfaced I couldn't feel my hands or my toes and we decided a strategic retreat was in order.

This was the scene on the journey home, the traffic stopped just before Lix Toll on the A85. 40 minutes later a Stagecoach bus decided he didn't need to wait, & started over taking the queue of stationary vehicles. The road was already narrow because of the snow, he managed to crush the rear end of the boat, then reversed into the car behind me - effectively blocking the road to oncoming traffic, the snowplows and gritters. Hopefully the sponson compressed under the pressure and hasn't torn away from the hull, but we won't know till we can see it in daylight.

I was very unhappy, but that escalated to furious pretty rapidly. I asked the driver what he was thinking of, driving up the wrong side of the narrow road which was quite clearly blocked ahead. He said he was trying to get his poor passengers home - aye and the rest of us were just sitting enjoying the weather.

Rant over.
