dribbly tunnelly puddly damp

Continuing the cycle path tunnel series and following LLCoolJim's suggestion here is the much less pleasant Trinity tunnel. Pleasingly round and quite well-lit but unpleasantly damp and puddled with distressingly gooey red mudstuffs. Were it not for the mud it might be possible to do fancy things up the curvèd sides but it was sucking at my feet in the few seconds it took to expose this. Might pop back at noonish at the weekend to see if the light makes it into it at this time of year.

Dull day at work with nothing special to report. Spent a pleasant lunchtime alternately steaming as fast as possible across town then waiting frustratedly to be served for twenty-five minutes in Plaisir du Chocolat to get the final fambly-present in time for it to be posted. Biked out to Silverknowes esplanade after work to try and get some aeroplane light-trails but the almost-utter darkness defeated my crap lens. Lovely and peaceful, though. A combination of that slightly tacky grippy-frost and completely frictionless ice along the prom towards Cramond which made cycling in pitch blackness (though with sufficient bicycle lights to be safe) quite fun. Some haar was just starting to creep in but I was too hungry to hang around and wait for it to envelop the end of the causeway for a nice spooky mist-shot. Slightly surprised that the water in my bottle didn't freeze up. Soon, maybe.

We have our work-sponsored cheapy christmas meal tomorrow (Jimmy bloody Chung's £5 buffet which thankfully I can't have any of as I'm off to the dentist for a check-up) but we get to wear normal, comfortable clothings and get two free hours' flex.
