My dad

This is a photo of a scan of a drawing of my dad. Excuse the quality.

He died aged 49 and 4 months, of throat cancer (you can see the tumour on the side of his neck if you look carefully) in York hospital in 1983. I wasn't in touch with him at the time and was lucky enough to speak to him just before he died.
This was drawn by Collette, a lady in the same ward as him, who died just before him.
Maybe I should wait until I am the same age before blipping this (3 months away), or at least until Thursday, but I'm going to put it up today because if I don't it may never get done.
I don't want to get maudling over this, but I will say, if you still have your dad in your life, count your blessings and make sure he knows you appreciate him.
