While on my runs

Cloudy morning mangroves

While on my run this morning I went past a collection of objects on the grass verge beside the street, which looked decidedly unusual and out of place. The photo I took was interesting, but it was supplanted for me by this image gained 10 minutes later in the reserve.

Once or twice a fortnight I come through here when the tide is fully in and what is at other tides a rather unprepossessing muddy swamp with a trickle of often dirty water, conveys the full beauty of a mangrove forest.

On other occasions, I have seen it with the sun shining; however, today it was striking for the lowness of the light, the shadows and the clarity of the reflected clouds, trees and houses in the still water before the turn of the tide.

I am indeed fortunate to live and run in such a city as this.
