Shrink wrap me please!

Right - enough! No more snow please!

Today Loose Ends and I set off for work only to have to turn back as the snow just got heavier and heavier. Cars sliding all over the place and the little Smart Car is not really up to it. As it transpired, I'm now REALLY glad I didn't then get the bus or I'd have been stranded in Saughton with a very long and very cold walk home.

So this image was just grabbed through the window this afternoon. The police in their 4x4 seemed to be the only people going anywhere. The windows of our flat are very drafty and the the house is freezing as a result. We're not allowed to put double glazing in due to it being in a conservation area. This annoys me. It's bloody freezing (-10C tonight) and presumably extremely inefficient and bad for the environment, but the council don't care about that, as long as no-one gets offended by the sight of a second layer of glass. Perish the thought!

So I considered the PS "plastic wrap" effect was appropriate today, being as I'd like to shrink wrap the entire house in a bid to stay warm. But the council would probably be offended by that too...
