Sun + Mist = Much Photo Possibilities

After breakfast we had a little discussion as to where we would like to walk today. It was decided to head a little bit south of Blackford, on the Braco road, park the car and walk towards Carsebreck Loch, which can be seen from the A9.

We branched off the main road at the new Loaninghead junction, past Gleneagles Hotel where this photo was taken. The mist was lying low with the sun overhead which created a lovely effect over West Moor Farmhouse.

Further on we parked the car and walked through the snow to Carsebreck Loch, where many pink footed winter there. In days gone by in the early 1900s there was a curling Grand Match held on this loch. Hundreds of people came from near and far to take place, and at that time there was a stop from the nearby railway line, which I would imagine how many travelled here. My grandpa played on it, so as I stood on the hill overlooking it today, seeing it frozen over, like then, I closed my eyes and imagined the scene.

It's a beautiful area, and made all the more dear to me as I grew up nearby and this area holds a special place in my heart and always will. Breagha had great fun too!
