New toy

It turned into a great day despite a rather bad start because of uncooperative Sellotape during the final spate of present wrapping, which was accompanied with lots of expletives. Things improved later when I met up with my Music Group and Grand Prix friends for our annual excghange of presents. Pubs closed early (8.00 pm), so we got back to Carl's at a reasonable hour, at which stage we exchanged our personal presents. We'd agreed them in advance this year, so there wasn't any surprise involved. Well, no intentional surprise anyway. I still found it hard to believe that the wide-angle converter I'd requseted for my new Canon PowerShot G9 weighed in heavier and bulkier than the camera itself. It's a gorgeous bit of kit, though, and here it is, blipped with what was my PowerShot A620 until Carl inherited it. I'm sure there'll be lots of wide-angle shots to come thanks to this new lens, and I'm really looking forward to playing with it.

In the mean time, sorry for the lack of EXIF data today. I used Macromedia Fireworks on Carl's pooter (not a Mac) to edit and crop, and the data got lost along the way.

EDIT: Back home later, uploaded afresh from my own Mac using an image emailed by Carl, but it looks as if something has got lost in translation somewhere along the way -- so I wouldn't give too much credence to the EXIF data now displayed.
