Vue de la Grande Roue

This afternoon I rode the "Grand Roue" (ferris wheel) at the Place de la Concorde in the heart of Paris.

It's 65 meters high and this was blipped from near the top, at ten minutes to five. (I had waited for some of the clouds to clear, which worked out pretty well for the ride--which lasted just five minutes).

Here's the large version--in it you can see the four gold statues on the Pont Alexandre Trois more clearly (two at either end). The edge of the Place de la Concorde is in the foreground and the bridge to the left bears the same name; the National Assembly is at the other end, out of sight on the left bank of the Seine. I blipped a view in the same direction from the ground level last year, showing a bit more of the Concorde.
