CUNNING PLAN REVEAL!!!

Okay, so the blip is a bit spurious. But I'm off to jazz with a good friend and didn't want this post to be a late one...

Coming to Liverpool, for Look11 photography festival, from May 13th until June 26th, 2011, I can now present....*drum roll*

FRAME OF MIND.

Two exhibitions of street and documentary photography, at a key venue in Liverpool.
Street Photography Now exhibition, from Third Floor Gallery, Cardiff. Featuring the work of Martin Parr, Trent Parke, Bruce Gilden, Nick Turpin, Matt Stuart, and many others.

The Bold Street - a collection of street and documentary photography made in and around Liverpool from 1970 to the present day. We have now had positive responses from (in no particular order):
Martin Parr - Magnum legend
John Stoddart - Top celebrity photog
Ken Grant of Newport. See also. Newport photography tutor and photographer.
Peter Marlow Magnum photog
Tricia Porter Independent docu photog
Peter Hagerty Independent photog artist, and founder of Open Eye Gallery and the E Chambre Hardman Museum in Rodney St, Liverpool, now a National Trust site (one of only 2 in Liverpool, I think).
Sean Halligan Pinhole photog par excellence
And maybe (yet to be confirmed, but I'm crossing every finger) Tom Wood!! Awesome awesome awesome and mighty (lots of mighty) documentary photographer, and my inspiration for beginning my bus project, 79.
We may (again, very very very heavy emphasis on the "may") also be showing Alex Majoli Magnum photog, and another of my absolute faves! (fingers very tightly crossed)

Also, iat Bold Street Coffee, we will be presenting MiniFrames, a smaller exhibition of work by Seconds2Real and Mimi Mollica

In June, will also be hosting a Street Photography Workshop Weekend, taught by Stephen McLaren author of the Street Photography Now book, and a guest tutor who is one of the 'togs from that book! The Friday before this event, there may also be a book signing event at Waterstones, Bold Street branch. :-)

And we will be having some debates, hosted by Philosophy in Pubs around the work and the questions it raises.

And we will be having a pre-launch party featuring projected images from the contributing photographers at the legendary Under The Inlufence music night held at Parr Street Studios' S2 venue. This will be in mid-April.

And I've been depserately trying to keep all these developments under wraps as I've been working on it these last few months. Hence all the references to Cunning Planning. But we're at a stage now where I can start putting out the specifics. Keep you May-June clear guys, because this is something you won't want to miss!*

* And I can say this safe in the knowledge that I'm not bragging about myself, but the guys we have lined up, the events, and above all the images, oh the images. This is going to be OFF THE HOOK, HEAVEN!!!
