Rural Mailboxes

These old mailboxes are doomed,
both by the elements and email.
But they wait everyday
for the postman,
hoping for a letter from a friend.
Poor old things are probably not even aware
of their impending fate.
But like a loyal companion,
the keep the watch.
"Neither Sleet nor Snow nor Rain nor the Dark of Night...!"
