A good mate

This is Dr B. We've been friends since the day we met at university.

She called into see me after she'd been out on Lyttleton Harbour in her sea kayak (otherwise known as paddling her waka ;-)

I wanted her opinion on my final choice of house colours. My house and my decision but I value Dr B's opinion. The wood part will be an dark earthy green, block work a rich warm cream and my front door rich dynamite red.

While here we received the sad news that our mutual friend has passed away. I'm glad Dr B was here. We talked about Bob and different memories of him. He will leave a huge gap. Today a mighty Totara tree has fallen.

Peace.

Edit: blip people, I am ok, I am away in the north island. I'm due to return to Christchurch tomorrow but won't be. Instead I'll head further north to be with my family for the immediate future. I feel devastated of course. I have friends missing and unaccounted for. I am bewildered but I am ok.
