Neighbor’s Peonies

It took longer than expected to finish packing and cleaning before the trip. Then I started baking after 5:00 last night. The crew will have a bacon, ham and zucchini quiche and low sugar blueberry yogurt coffee cake for breakfast during the trip. I was very tired when all was said and done last night. Up before 7:00 this morning. We packed the food, filled the SUV, fed the birds and left home after 9:00. As we were leaving the driveway, I noticed our neighbor’s peonies were in full bloom. It was nice to have my blip early. The weather was overcast, becoming rainy after lunch. We stopped to fill up with gasoline, then for lunch to fill up different type of tanks. As usual, we grabbed a cake and pie at The Blue Goose. I napped on and off during the entire trip. Hubby needed a little rest after we crossed the WV state line. So that’s where we are. Hoping to get to the farm by 6:45. All’s well on the home front. I hope you can say the same. Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe. My sister says the cell reception is worse than usual. Don’t be surprised if I don’t post daily. Thanks so much for so many kind, consoling comments. Much appreciated! “Others said May was best, that sweet green time when lilacs bloomed and gardens along Main Street were filled with sugary pink peonies and Dutch tulips.” - Alice Hoffman
