Token exchange at Wittersham Road

Caught in the act of exchanging tokens. The fireman is giving up the token for the single line section from Northiam and collecting the token from the signalman for the single line section to Rolvenden.

A good day at the signalbox, with a learner doing all the work and getting wet as he did the token exchange and worked the gates. The problems of the last few months with the signal cables had been resolved during the week. The vegetation along the wire runs had been cleared and the pulley posts stood upright.
