Gulargambone

Gulargambone (G’LAR-gm-bone) is a small town north of here.

It is commonly abbreviated to “Gular”, which sounds the same as the pink and grey parrot, the Galah.

Apparently its name means “watering place for many Galahs”.

I haven’t been out there recently but am told the town makes good use of the Galah motif in artwork, murals and installations.

Worth a visit!
