Hello; my name is Andrew Burns and I've lived with my wife (and our 22-year old son), near central Edinburgh, for almost three decades :-)

I got the ‘blipping-bug’ back in 2013/14, when I kept a daily journal for a whole year, all as I prepared to run the Edinburgh Marathon in late May 2014 - at the grand old age of 50!

So, this is my second blipfoto journal (from June 2014 onwards) … I probably won't attempt an entry every single day this time around, and will mainly focus on:
* our ongoing walking-exploits
… (thus the journal title – I run a monthly, informal  walking-group!)
* my long-standing love of poetry
* and our equally, much-loved, nearby allotment

Professionally; I’m currently occupied as Convener of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations’ [SCVO] Board of Trustees; I'm also a Member of the Accounts Commission for Scotland; and am a Part-Time PhD Student at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Previously, I was a local politician – I stood down in May 2017, after 18 enjoyable years. If interested, you can read a bit more about that period via my now archived blog.

I also keep a current twitter-account, which you can find here. And I do hope you enjoy this, my second blipfoto journal :-)
