Hello --- my name is Andrew Burns, and I live in Edinburgh with my wife – we have one son, who has just graduated from Abertay University, in Dundee :-)

I got the ‘blipping-bug’ back in 2013/14, when I kept a daily journal for a whole year, all as I prepared to run the Edinburgh Marathon in late May 2014 - at the grand old age of 50!

So, this is my second blipfoto journal … but I'm not going to attempt an entry every single day this time round, and will mainly focus on:

* our ongoing walking-exploits
… (thus the journal title – I run a monthly, informal  walking-group!)
* my long-standing love of poetry
* our equally, much-loved, nearby allotment
* maybe some ongoing running/swimming
* and any local cycling we may undertake

Professionally; I’m a recovering local politician – I stood down from City Council politics (here in Edinburgh) back in May 2017, after 18 enjoyable years. If interested, you can read a bit more about all of that via my now archived blog. And my previous work-experience can be found within my LinkedIn-profile.

Currently; I’m occupied as Convener of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations’ [SCVO] Board of Trustees; and am also a Member of the Accounts Commission for Scotland … again, if interested, you can read more about those roles by following the embedded links. I do also keep a current twitter-account, which you can find here.

I hope you enjoy this blipfoto journal :-)
