This photography bug has only come upon me in the last few years. I started snapping with a point and shoot, and found I was becoming frustrated with the outcomes. I took the plunge and bought a bridge camera 3 years ago, and decided I needed to get off auto mode so went on a weeks course which got me completely hooked (thanks to John Gravett)! I've been happily making many mistakes and learning ever since!!

It's an engrossing, enriching, creative, often frustrating, but always hugely enjoyable past-time which has opened my eyes, made me lots of new friends as well as allowing me to meet my husband! Take the compact everywhere when I don't have the bridge handy and just want to keep on learning and hopefully improving.

I wish I'd joined the Blip community sooner!
