"Underemployed, overeducated,intensely private and unpredictable; fiercely suspicious of being lumped into an advertiser's target market, unsure of his future, cut adrift in the desert"

Why Twinned With Trumpton? I grew up in a sleepy west Perthshire village and nothing ever happened there. It was safe and archetypal; I figured it was like Trumpton; so I made stencils and got some black spray paint and got the three signs into the village and added the legend Twinned With Trumpton.

I live in Edinburgh, work for the local authority and my work takes me all over the city so plenty opportunity to blip away.

I love cycling, mountaineering, have an allotment, have 2 youngish  teenage sons, cook creatively, and have always always always taken photos.

Photos I love taking are things that remind me of early Bridget Riley prints - repetition, but slightly skewed. Often shadows and reflections provide the necessary lines and shapes.

If you read 1/1/14 entry, you'll get a bit more insight into how my blip career has evolved.

colinplindsay@hotmail.com is where you'll find me.

After a couple of years on blip, I have more than 4 journals;

MisterFT - my main one for the narrative of life;
Cigs - my slightly obsessive recording of Edinburgh's #1 tagger* in mono - an attempt to show Edinburgh in an alternative way. The narrative my have some basis in truth but may also have ridiculous corporate concepts too.
TheThirdMan - a foil to the largely mono of Mister FT and Cigs - I love colour and this has become my site for overspill for stuff that doesn't make it onto MisterFT. As I record life elsewhere, I'm not so likely to follow you from this site and am less likely to respond to comments - there just aren't enough hours in the day
BillBoard - the most recent one - I started it do graphic design - type shots; originally I got inspiration from Copenhagen Dreaming
and Dennis' series of close ups of advertising hoardings; but lately it's become a more about abstract compositions; no people and usually a diagonal amongst more square structures.

And adding to the schizophrenic nature I've now got Where's Trolley? (not Where's Wally!) - a dumping ground for my photos of abandoned shopping trolleys; fuelled largely ny an INstagram collab with Cherie from Perth who runs the page. It's like Cigs with trolleys, basically.....

*OK, maybe not #1 but certainly well on the way to become the best known...
