Before The Journal

Up until July 2010, I was an ordinary working class Englishman working a variety of minimum wage jobs to pay the rent - mostly within the pub trade - with grand old hopes of becoming a writer, and a past riddled with left-wing political activism. I was also a passionate supporter of West Bromwich Albion Football Club since the 1980s. Tough job, but someone had to do it.

During The Journal

I began blipping in late July 2010 under the title "A Lanky Baggie's Life"; a delightful play on words (in my mind, anyway) indicating that I was a West Bromwich Albion fan based in Lancaster.

In October 2011, I left Lancaster behind me to continue my Blip adventure in the Black Country under the name "Baggie Trousers"; a little tip of the hat to the Albion, my love of ska music, and nostalgia for the days when I used to wear jeans with legs so wide you could fit three people inside them.

I took the plunge into DSLR photography on 1st March 2012, acquiring a Nikon D3100.

But as of 2014, I'm still an under-employed writer with an axe to grind against the 21st Century (and indeed, all of the centuries that came before it).
