Guitarist, hiker, photographer, all round misery guts . . .

Been a photographer of sorts as long as I can remember - got my first camera ( B/W Polaroid land camera ) back in the early 70's.

Nowadays I use my trusty Canon 5D, with a 17-40L, 24-105L, 70-200L and a 50mm 1.4 prime. I also carry a funky little Canon G12 as backup, and for cycling days, when my delicate 5D stays safely at home. Oh - I have an iPhone 4S too . . . . .

All my PP work is done on a Macbook Pro, using Aperture, Noise Ninja, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex pro and PTLens

Most of the photos in my journal(s) will be taken as I roam the Midlands, either on foot or on my trusty bicycle.

****I'm currently a few weeks into a little challenge I've set myself - I'm using the 5D with the 50mm prime, on manual focus, in manual mode, with the preview screen turned off. I'm metering with an external light meter ( actually an iPhone app ), and ignoring the cameras metering system. I've no idea if all of this will improve or ruin my images, but I'm having fun shooting with what is effectively an old film SLR****
