I've enjoyed photography since my late teens. Medical studies,  an NHS career and domestic life rather squeezed out the hobby. Retirement came to the rescue and allowed me to combine my love of country walking and photography (digital exclusively).

I was inspired to join Blip by John Gravett on his landscape photography course which is held in the Lake District.

I now carry a mobile phone equipped with a pretty good camera. For planned shoots I have a Nikon D810, and a couple of D850s, filters and a proper tripod. John says spend as much on the tripod as you do on a lens. Sound advice because stability combined with portability is an uneasy trade-off. But they do seem to get heavier!
