Say Cheese!!!!

"Say cheese" is an instruction used by photographers who want their subject to smile. By saying "cheese", most people form their mouths into what appears to be a smile-like shape. Wikipedia

Other cultures use different words to get the same effect. There’s a whole list of these on Wikipedia but I just thought I would tell you a few of the more bizarre alternatives:

In Spain, the equivalent form is "di/decid patata"("say potato").

In France and other French-speaking countries, the word "ouistiti", meaning marmoset, is often used.

In most Latin American countries, the phrase used is "Diga 'whiskey'" ("Say ‘whiskey’"). (That might be a better guarantee of a smile from some people!!)

The Swedish use, "Säg 'omelett'", meaning "Say ‘omelette’”.

In Germany, food-related words like "Spaghetti", "Käsekuchen" (cheesecake), Wurst are used, mainly to make children laugh for the picture.

I wonder what my pizza man here was saying? Answers on a postcard please!!
