whomsoever this shoe fits...

...unless the plans to modify an existing pair of shoes to transform them from sister-wedding-bridesmaid-shoes to bride-shoes are unsuccessful and she has to find somewhere which will sell some in the right colour without the seemingly obligatory five-inch teetering-heel. Plan A (paint some shoe-dye onto the shoes) failed somewhat (didn't take on the creases and came out greenish rather than grey) so Plan B consisting of a glue gun, a strange burning smell and some shinyfabricstuff has been put into action.

Currently the fabric is remaining suitably firmly attached but I think the remainder of the plan (buy a replacement sole from a cobbler and glue it to the fabric where it wraps underneath the sole) might need some work if she is not to end up with a sole or two flapping loose during the dancing or even just the standing. Hopefully it'll work as these seem to have been comfortable when previously worn and are sufficiently high to bring her eyes up to the level of my chin whilst not being so high that she has to adopt an odd stance or risk twisting her ankles.

Hopefully she will stop when the fabric is attached and leave all the various shiny ribbony things in her box of decorative haberdashery alone. Relaxed shoes make for relaxed events in my experience.
