Apres number 6

One thing that does frustrate is the lack of control with my compact Olympus. For a digital point and shoot almost 7 years old, and with only 7 (now less than some phones!) megapixels, it can take some superb shots, especially as it does have a rather good lens.

However there are times when the image processing really does show it self up, and the ability to have some manual control would be nice. Short of retro-hacking the firmware, I borrowed another camera in the house to see what can be done with some manual control.

Over the last few years, most of my photography has been part of my exploits outdoors, and a point and shoot has been enough (and in some cases safer!) to just grab some snaps.

However, with more capable kit, and someone with a keen interest in being creative in the house, I've decided to read up on these technical terms, and this shot was part of experimenting with shutter speeds.
