secret garden

A strange thing...

... to come across on a mountain side. This pieta sits immobile gazing out from near the top of Seefin Mountain. It is in a magnificent position for from here you can see both sides of the peninsula and the views are breathtaking. It was erected in the Marian year of 1952 when lots of statues were put up to remember Our Lady. It is very white and looks oddly moving and alone amongst all the scenery. it is still much revered as can be seen by the heap of coins, some of them very recent, placed in the lap of Jesus. My other choice for today's blip was of Mary's outstretched hand into which someone has carefully placed three coins. Maybe another time.

Wild and windy today but the walking bus continued bravely! Parked till Monday.

We are venturing out to see the Adjustment Bureau tonight - Matt Damon doing something complicated!! I hope it's not too much like Inception which I couldn't understand at all!
