The Lozarithm Lens

Birmingham and Fazeley Canal

Yesterday being the anniversary of our mother's passing in 2000, The Spotlight Kid and I met up with our father at the Dog and Doublet, a canalside North Warwickshire district pub that after lunch marked the beginning of our stroll along the towpath to Curdworth Bottom Lock and into Kingsbury Water Park.

Like the previous year, it marked one of the first sunny days of the year. People were enjoying a lunchtime drink on the outdoor tables in the sunshine, others were exercising their dogs and there were many boats moored along the canal. There were half a dozen grebes in pairs on the lake, low-level flypasts from a swan and a heron, gulls noisily establishing territorial rights on the lake island and ducks, geese and coots all heralding Spring.
