Wreck of the Dove

Today we dived the wreck of the Dove, she's well broken up and lies on a rock and silt seabed in 41m of seawater.

Here is B inspecting the main anchor at the bow, he's holding the stock, the shaft and flukes are mostly buried in the silt. The eye is still inside the hawse pipe and the pile of concretion, to the left of B, is the anchor chain. The chain would have been stored in a locker at the bow. The chain is still connected to the anchor, although the ship's deck and bow have disappeared. It was a fascinating dive, we found several other smaller anchors, the spare propeller, triple expansion steam engine and the boiler. The water was cold at 7C!!
