Newcastle Downunder

Nobbys Breakwall

I walked down the breakwall this morning in the hopes of getting some really big seas. They were big but the blip I have chosen is more a postcard view with the Nobbys headland in the centre showing the lighthouse and signal house and Newcastle CBD to the right side of it in the rear. On the left on the hill is Fort Scratchley and below it the white building with the red roof is Nobbys Surf House.

There were people surfing both sides of the breakwall. When seas are big, the harbour break is often a favourite.

And yes it did rain - I got moderately wet on the way down but on the way back the sun was out and brightened everything up. I think the weather gods are looking for a money sacrifice...

Thanks so much for your kind comments on yesterday's blip.
