Sunbathing damselfly

Too busy to get out at lunchtime today - skies were also very theatening again but we've still haven't had rain.

This was an emergency blip in the garden when I got home. This damselfly was sunning itself in the top corner of the garden. I think it might be a female azure damselfly - they seem to be common so it may be the right one.

Tried to get a shot of the bats emerging tonight - utter failure! Took about 20 shots and all you can see is a grey smudge in the sky - they move very fast! May try to use our bat detector to see if you get an forewarning that they are about to dive out. Fast shutter speed will be essential to try and get anything other than a blur. Could be a challenge.....

Utter frustration again with uploading this photo - I've saved it in the correct orientation but it is still coming out portrait rather than landscape.
