Marjorie's ramblings

The longest picnic table...

Another lovely sunny day in London and I'm struggling to decide which image to blip - spoilt for choice.

I walked to the Tower and then visited the exhibition inside Tower Bridge. Lovely views up and down the river and the added pleasure of being there with a class of children from a Muslim school. They were well behaved but very lively and interested in all they saw. (I wish I could have photographed the girl who kept blowing bubbles of bubble gum - priceless.)

On to the south of the river where hundreds of people were having lunch outside. Many were sitting at a long picnic table - the longest in the world?? at 90m long. If you took part you received a free lunch - so I did.

This image is of one of the trio who played jazz at the event and you can see a fragment of the table behind him. Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit were all in attendance. I was disappointed that the Mayor did not make an appearance.

In the evening to the Orange Tree Theatre for Autumn and Winter by Lars Noren - another powerful family drama. Phew. Then sat up talking to the others about their days. No wonder this is a back blip!
