Everyday I Write The Book

It's not a Kingfisher

I nipped out at lunchtime having been told there were Kingfishers under the bridge on the river, but I couldn't find them. I saw a Morrisons carrier bag stuck in a tree and a heron, and the sun was shining. But I photographed this instead.

It's one of those really big cotton reel type things that they put cables and tubing on. There were four of them out of the back of a recently completed office building. The texture of the wood and plates and rivets caught my eye. Big clever stuff always impresses me.

There's a bit of every man that wishes he could have been an engineer.
