Whitehaven Wanderings

A bit of reminiscence on the way back home from the Lakes - we travelled via Whitehaven, as it is where MBH* used to live during his first job - at Sellafield of all places!

Of course it has changed beyond all recognition in most aspects - especially the harbour, which he remembers as run down and a bit seedy, and is now a gleaming marina, which serves at the starting point for the Coast to Coast walk/cycle.

But one or two elements were comfortingly the same - including some of the local hostelries he learned to drink in!!
