Moorhen Chick

Back to the park today. Much better weather but lots of boating on the lake disturbing the more timid of the birds. I went to the nature corner and found this moorhen chick sitting amongst the reeds and preening itself.

I stood there for some time and sure enough, the mother turned up along with a second smaller chick which she proceded to feed before preening herself. Unfortunately for fellow blippers, all this took place partially or largely obscured by foliage. This was the best of many that I took.

Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus)
