Hydrangeas at East Ruston

Drove over to East Ruston Old Vicarage in Norfolk with some of my old work colleagues to celebrate an award our gardening newspaper won earlier in the year - I was still working there then.
This is a fabulous garden - in fact it is made up of many gardens - and is full of beautiful plants, none more so than these hydrangeas which are at their peak right now in the Woodland Garden. If you love gardens and plants this is a great place to visit and you'll find it between Norwich and the coast just a few miles from Happisburgh where, incidentally, there is the oldest working lighthouse on the Norfolk coast.

It was a great day to celebrate my 100th blip - a lot has happened since I gave up work on April 1. For one thing I discovered Blipfoto and it will be great to look back on the year in pictures and journal entries. Through this site I have also met a lot of really nice people who take great pictures reflecting their lives and where they live and who have been only too willing to share their knowledge and their interest.

I'm looking forward to the next Blip milestone and to continuing the fascinating dialogue in words and pictures with other Blippers...

For the record: 16C, cloudy
