Early Flowering

When we were in the park the other day I noticed a few aconites in flower. These are at the bottom of a south-facing slope, which may explain why they are flowering already when those in a neighbour's north-facing garden are not even showing.

Just along from the aconites there is a primrose in flower, it's hard to believe it's only the middle of January.
