Kingfisher

It snowed two or three inches Thursday night, and Friday morning all I wanted to do was stop somewhere and take some photos, but alas there was no time. So Friday afternoon after work, I went to Millbrook Marsh with my camera.

Already, the sky was starting to congeal and turn gray, getting ready for the next snowstorm (it would snow another six to seven inches that night).

A few birds were out and about, including this pretty fellow, who flew up and down the stream, finding perches on branches where he could survey his domain (and search for snacks, no doubt), all the time shouting in a raucous voice.

I think what I enjoy most about this bird is not just his lovely blue/slate color, but that wild Don King hairdo. :-)
