The Lozarithm Lens

Mallard Lake

Today we were at the Lower Moor Farm Nature Reserve in the Cotswold Water Park, to see a starling murmeration. We were in luck and witnessed a spectacular display, but unfortunately the conditions weren't right for me to get any pictures.

We were near the heronry but the couple of herons we saw were playing tag as usual, so were also resistant to my lensmanship. I took this shot of Mallard Lake as we approached their hide.

There were also a number of Belted Galloways in a canopied cattle pen on the reserve, and as we returned to the car I tried out my creative skills with an arty shot of a pair of mallard after darkness had fallen.
