The Lozarithm Lens

Unusual Animals In Wiltshire Fields #11

After yesterday's trip to Lower Moor Farm Nature Reserve in the Cotswolds I hadn't expected to make a return trip quite so soon.  On returning to the car I'd discovered the lens hood on my expensive and newest lens was no longer there. It was by then too dark to go and look for it, so I left without it.

Today, having discovered how much it would cost to replace and having a fair idea as to where it might have become detached, I decided it was worth the forty mile round trip to look for it. It would also give me the opportunity to photograph some of the things that the failing light had ruled out.

I found the lens hood just where I'd thought I would, beside the cattle pen that contained a herd of beautiful Belted Galloway cattle including one bull with a golden ring on his nose. I was able to get much sharper images than on the previous day, and as a bonus a pair of deer turned up to graze in a field beyond the Nature Reserve, just visible in this picture.
