The Lozarithm Lens

Horton

The snow blitzing the country reached North Wiltshire late on Thursday afternoon and soon began to settle. I tried to get out early enough this morning to catch it before it had thawed, and drove to the Millennium Bridge at Black Dog, intending to walk along the old railway path, but the snow was fast disappearing, the light was poor and I wasn't having much success.

Returning to the car I turned around and headed for Horton, parking outside the Bridge Inn. This is the closest point to my cottage of the Kennet and Avon Canal. The canal was largely frozen over, immobilising the narrowboats moored there and causing the two ducks to be seen to skate tentatively on the surface before entering the water where it had melted.
