A Bridge Too Far.
Logroño's new railway station comes on apace. The lines now run underground so there was no further need for the well-used footbridge that was constructed as a temporary measure in 1999 and has been in continuous service ever since - despite it wobbling alarmingly when too many Logroñeses used it at the same time. It did however give great views and many were gathered today to see it go. The general feeling was that the new ground level route would allow a crossing that would be "quicker and easier but with much less of a tale to tell".
I arrived too late to see the main demolition but managed to catch the jackals tearing at the carcass.
