Sledge Dog Memorial

I'm working at British Antarctic Survey for the next three weeks. This is the memorial that sits outside their office in Cambridge. Due to the snow mobile and the Antarctic Treaty, the sledge dogs were withdrawn from British Antarctic Territory in 1993. 1,204 of them worked with BAS over the years from 1943, helping scientists and their equipment get around the difficult terrain of the Antarctic Peninsula.
