Haberfield House

Left Sydney blipless today, so stopped as I was driving through Haberfield to snap this house.

The whole suburb of Haberfield was established in 1901, following the Garden Estate movement.
The slogan, 'Slum-less. Lane-less. Pub-less' was used at the time to promote it.  Each house is different, but each has the same theme, and most feature ornate timber details, leadlight windows and distinctive tile patterns on verandahs and in bathrooms, and they were all sewered, which was unusual for the time.

More than 700 houses were designed by the same architect.

I particularly like this house, because although it isn't large or grand, I suspect the owners have gone to the trouble of making it as authentic as possible, right down to the plantings in the garden.
