Chaffinch

Another soggy day! We took a drive out to Otley and stocked up on plants and compost for the hanging baskets which, at this moment, Tony is preparing and hanging in the greenhouse until the danger of frost is passed. I wandered the rain battered garden, most of which is still mostly green, to find a blipspiration and it was indeed a toss up between a tulip leaning under the weight of drops and this chaffinch sitting in the top of the elder tree. I've gone with this one because it shows the tree in its first flush of spring greenery. Lots of birds in the tree today. I spotted robin, chaffinches, goldfinches, female bullfinch, sparrow, nuthatch, dunnock, collared dove, greenfinches, great tits, blackbirds and coal tit.

Just seen my blip from today, last year. A totally different weather day spent at Bempton blipping the gannets!
