A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Cambagara

Water thundering as it plummets hundreds of thousands of microns in deepest Cambourne!

Actually got out for a walk at lunchtime, work and rain having relaxed slightly. Seems the local watercourses were also wandering places they didn't usually. The lake was somewhat overflowing, and this water course, normally a damp dribble, was somewhat more enthusiastic today.

Curious collection of birdlife on the pond today too - swifts (or martins, can never tell), a goldfinch, and the mallard family back together for the first time in a week or so (the two chicks seemed to have been left to fend for themselves).

Day two of "Cheeseminer Buys a Prime Lens". Dramatically more commercial competence today. I emailed four suppliers whose websites were ambiguous about stock levels (honest ambiguity beats inaccurate any day in my book). All came back with swift helpful answers but mostly out of [new] stock.

The exception was Castle Cameras, who had one in stock, were cheaper than Jacobs, and proactively offered to post it Special Delivery at their 'first class' rate to my work address (without discussing faxed letterheads...)

I'll be back...

Bedded in about half the new siding tonight, and now trying to decipher what demon are doing to mother-in-law's email access.
