Day 4 Goudhurst Village Pond

Day 4 of the project. It's a damp & overcast day, typical Bank Holiday.

Today's photograph is of the village pond in Goudhurst, Kent. This is a village 5 miles from where I live but a number of my clients live there. It is the quintessential English village with it's pond, church and pubs. The church which stands at the highest point in the Weald of Kent the tower provides views of both the North and South Downs and on a clear day a reported 50 other churches in Kent and Sussex.

The picture was taken just after I had dropped my son off at work at The Star and Eagle Hotel which dates back to the 15th century and maintains many of it's features. It also holds a connection with the notorious Hawkhurst Smugglers Gang. It stands next to the church at the top of the hill which it's self was one of the hill stages on the Tour de France when it came to the UK a few years ago.
