African Spurred Tortoise

Today we (Moor Fotografie) made our last preparations for the workshops we'll organize in the months to come in the new Reptile House 'De Aarde' (The Earth) in Breda.

For today's blip I chose this image of an African spurred tortoise. Wiki says:

"The African spurred tortoise (Centrochelys sulcata), also called the African spur thigh tortoise or the sulcata tortoise, is a species of tortoise which inhabits the southern edge of the Sahara desert, in northern Africa. It is the third largest species of tortoise in the world and the largest species of mainland tortoise (not found on an island)."

As it rained from time to time in the western part of the country - though the temperatures reached values ??between 17 ° and 19 ° C - we didn't mind working most of the day inside ... ;)
