In The Bleak Midwinter

I nipped out for a brisk walk late this afternoon from Parndon to Hunsdon and back along the Stort Navigation. Someone had placed a bunch of fresh flowers at the water's edge. Maybe it was a Christmas tribute to someone who used to like to walk the towpath?

I was hoping for colour but there was only a hint, at least there was a bit of interest in the sky.

When I got back to Parndon it was dark. It was lovely to see the stained glass windows of the little church shining, to see lots of people arriving and to hear singing from within. The last time I took a pic here it was of a condom hanging in a tree.
