Whole lot of painting going on!

Yet again the Rutland is having a revamp.
This seems to be a yearly occurrence and strangely each renovation makes the place (at least to my mind) less appealing than it was befvore.
Over the years I've seen some strange things happen.
When I first visited you could sit at lovely antique tables on wonderful old windsor back chairs looking out the window overlooking the memorial.
This arrangement was changed to plants replacing the tables and chairs.
I could never understand that one!
I do love the hand rails by the door, with their hands and pointing finger, lovely, never seen these anywhere before.
