WHAT? No Snow??
I once heard that, due to its position, Penrith was in a sort of "Rain Shadow" in that Westerly winds often, but not infallibly, drop rain on the Lakeland Fells before it gets to us. While Easterlies chuck it a lot of theirs onto yon side of the Pennines as they pass over.
We seem to be also in a Snow Shadow in that I hear much of the country has been prevented from functioning by a few inches.
I wonder if we'd cope any better if it was a regular occurrence, Like the
N. American continent.
Oh, BTW it's an Erigeron.
