All part of the story

The winter workers

The Cheviots, Zwarties and the older Blackie ewes are nibbling their way through the in-by fields.  Today they moved into the Haunn field (the Coronation Meadow).

It is a really important part of grassland management, cleaning up the sward in the winter, grazing it low enough that the wild flowers will emerge and flourish in the spring.

This field has a healthy population of moles, and with all the rain we have been having recently, we were wondering if their tunnels get flooded.

The long low island on the skyline is the Isle of Coll.
